Lights out and up – only a little time has passed.
Matt: Alive? But he blew himself up.
Jeanette: We saw him.
Police: Yes, that's why we're here. What exactly did you see?
Jeanette: Well we weren't really very close but he was atop his car and speaking through a megaphone.
Matt: Yes, all his usual drivel about the space program—but more fiery this time, that cultural fanaticism coming out I suppose, which explains the bomb too.
Jeanette: His cultural what?
Matt: Well, you know, that whole religious fanaticism that just seems to color everything they do.
Police: We certainly investigated that connection. It's true that he is a Moslem, but definitely no fanatic.
Matt: Well as Marie here was just saying, it's not necessarily about belief, these things are just part of you.
Police: Marie?
Marie: Wait a minute, I wasn't saying that Catholicism . . .
Matt: No offense meant, it's just that . . .
Anne: Matt, quit while you're ahead.
Police: Don't stop yet. What did you see?
Matt: Well he seemed to hit a sort of hight point and then, boom?
Jeanette: No, he paused and turned as if he were going to do something . . . or something caught his attention
Matt: Really?
Police: And you Madame, were you there as well?
Anne: Yes, but to tell the truth I wasn't paying any attention. He was behind us compared to the launchpad and I was focused on the rocket.
Matt: But what makes you think he didn't blow himself up?
Police: You and he had some conflict prior to yesterday, did you not?
Matt: I wouldn't call them a conflict.
Police: How would you describe them please?
