Day 59 New last line for play and Day 5 of the CoastWalk

Last line revised
Steve: Ah, Crowley, we all have life sentences and I doubt yours will be any less tedious than mine. (to the group) Salud. Any word may be our last, more importantly, they are the only ones we're speaking now.

And now back to the Coast Walk journal:

ENTRY FIVE
Saturday July 25.
Camp in the sand dunes

Up about seven, breakfasted on more bread cookies and fruit juice in water – Matt ate his last apple.
More hiking thru jungles but only two or three more wooded dunes then an on open sand dune from which we beheld the ocean and straight ahead of us the wrecked ship Matt particularly wanted to see.
It seemed a long climb over one dune after the other but we finally reached the ship.
We waded in the ocean and rested and argued about the tide before starting the long trek along the beach. I required at least 5 minutes rest for every ten or 15 minutes walk but at last we did reach Tenmile Creek which we waded and found, tucked in among the wooded dunes about a quarter mile back form the beach, an old deserted homestead where a hous had burned down. He we were sheltered from the winds and had a very comfortable camp.
Suppoer of bacon, pancakes, hot cocoa.
I insisted on boiling the water because we had to take it from the creek in the sand flats.

  2. Glad to hear you like the new line. I wish they said how long the wreck had been there.
